Church birth announcement

Let us transport ourselves to Jerusalem, 2000 years ago, at the time of Pentecost, a very popular Jewish religious holiday. Away from the crowd of pilgrims, the disciples of Jesus are gathered in a large room. Jesus (dead and risen) has just ascended to heaven from whence he came. He promised them not to leave them alone, but to send them the Holy Spirit, who would represent God by coming to dwell in them. The disciples are waiting for him.

When the Spirit causes the disciples to speak in foreign languages and everyone can understand the words in their own language, people are attracted and amazed... or mocked. Then Peter explains to the crowd that this is a promise God made through ancient prophecy and is now being fulfilled because the work of Jesus Christ on earth is complete. With the gift of the Spirit in the heart of every Christian, a new era begins.

Many believe what Peter says and join the followers of Jesus. A caring and supportive community is being born. The church ! And she is still alive ! As at the very beginning of this church, we invite you to join the disciples of Jesus wherever you are.
