Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil. Isaiah 5.20

Our great God and Savior Jesus Christ gave himself for us to redeem us from all sin and to make for himself a people of his own, purified and zealous for fine works. Titus 2. 13, 14 Segond Version 21

    Moral confusion

"Our world has lost its compass, we are sailing on sight, jostled by events, wandering where the wind takes us. We need to take a course". This observation by a neuropsychiatrist sums up the state of our Western society. Traditional morality based on our Judeo-Christian history is considered obsolete. The ethics committees then claim to give a moral orientation on bases which are variable. Consciousness is shaped by opinion makers, influencers of all kinds.

The believer knows that God does not change. What course should we take if not to return to the moral law of the one who created us ? God gave it to us in the Bible, the only universal reference of good and evil. She says among other things : "Thou shalt not covet" (Exodus 20:17). Yet, aren't we often guided by our desires and lusts ? And on this subject, who can change course ? We must all accept our inability, our failure before the demands of God.

But if God does not change in his holy nature, he is also immutable in his love. He sent his Son Jesus Christ into this confused world. There, Jesus perfectly fulfilled the divine law. On the cross, he took upon himself the evil that filled our hearts, to "purify us from all iniquity". He bore the penalty for all who repent. And, marvel ! he gives them new life to constitute for God "a people who belong to him, purified and zealous for beautiful works". Yes, the course is Jesus. Is he your great Savior God ?
