You are in my hand as clay is in the potter's hand. Jeremiah 18. 6
Jesus told them a parable to show that they should always pray, without being discouraged. John 18. 1
A cake is ready !
This morning my daughter asked me to bake her favorite cake. After going to buy all the ingredients that I lacked, I made it with care, following the recipe. What if my little girl had gone to the kitchen a few minutes after asking me to do so, and had started crying because the cake wasn't there ? I would have explained to him that a cake is being prepared and that it takes time !
Christians, sometimes we do this to God. We pray and if the answer does not come right away, we think that God is not answering us. No ! God is wise !
He is all powerful, of course! One word was enough for him to bring out the light. But our requests often involve moral and spiritual work in us, or in those concerned by our prayers. This divine work is carried out in hearts and consciences through his Word and through the circumstances of life. And if this work takes time, it is because it often encounters obstacles in us ! God works with patience, and he never skips steps. In a pictorial way he "brings together the ingredients, preheats the oven, supervises the cooking"... in order to answer our prayers, with wisdom and love, at the right time. So let's be patient, docile and confident !
It is in you, God the Savior, That in all confidence
Rest my heart. Your long patience
And your great mercy, Show me, every day,
The care of your love.
