A creator God

In the same way, the Spirit also helps us in our weakness. Indeed, we do not know what to ask in our prayers, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us by sighs that words can not express. Romans 8:26

John Knox, anxious for his country and devouring the soul, prayed : "Give me Scotland or I die !" His hard work has been rewarded with a spiritual rebirth on his country. This is called "praying in the Spirit". It is the manifestation of a deep spiritual interest for others, inspired by the Spirit of God. This type of prayer can jump over the oceans, through burning deserts, down mountains, through jungles, and bring healing, helping the gospel to the object of prayer.

"The Spirit Himself intercedes" indicates that this is actually God who pleads, prays and weeps through us. Thus, we become workers with God, true partners with him ; our lives are elevated from the background of selfishness to the high plane of creativity with God. John Knox worked and the Church of Scotland broke into a new life.
