A door of hope !

Hosea 2.17 –... I will make the valley of Akor a door of hope...

Akor Valley refers to a place of torment and affliction. This is where Achan was stoned ; you know the one who brought the "forbidden" into the people of Israel when Jericho was taken. It is the most terrible place in the desert, where there is nothing but misery and suffering. The previous verse tells us that God will speak to the hearts of his people and He promises that this place of affliction will become a door of hope. What a wonderful promise !

Sorrow and the passage through the wilderness are often unavoidable in our walk with the Lord. Not pleasant, of course, but necessary for our training as a disciple. When everything seems "dead" and deserted in our life, that moment when we lose all hope, it is the moment that the Lord chooses to speak to us from heart to heart ! He has the secret of words that restore hope. This distressing situation then becomes the very door of a new spiritual impetus and a new outlook on the future.

My beloveds, we are all tempted at one time or another to give up and give up. It's part of our poor human nature. The Lord wants to draw us into this intimacy with Him and speak to us with gentleness and consolation. Let us not forget that He is the absolute master of circumstances and times. His purpose was never to leave us there in this valley but when we enter it, He has already provided the way out. This passage is necessary for us to learn from Him. Let us take courage, He is making all things new ! There is still a future and hope for you ! And this time of discouragement will soon be a bad memory.
