A favorable wind blows on your life

"You bless the righteous, O LORD !" Psalm 5.13

The Latin philosopher Seneca once wrote : "There is no favorable wind for those who do not know where he is going."

In the same way, your life or your future sometimes seem so fragile that you feel like being led by the wind. Or to be on the edge of a chasm, ready to fall ... There is another shore opposite, but it seems so far away ... You think then : "How could I jump far enough to reach this other shore, this next step, when I'm so weak and so discouraged ?"

God, the master of the wind itself, is always favorable to you, and always has a rock, a rock designed to receive you in case of a fall !

My friend, God says to you : "Jump !"

Jump ?! You've thought about it, but does not God know you're not able to jump that far ? The chasm is far too big to be crossed. And yet ...

"Jumped up !" you repeat the Almighty.

So, at the end of your resources, having no other choice than that of trust, you jump ... Well, you were right ... The gulf is decidedly too big and you do not reach the other shore. You think it's over ... When suddenly, your feet hit a rock ... A rock ! There was a rock below, which your eyes could not see ! And this rock allows you to reach the other shore !

Unlike Latin authors, you can, for your part, be assured that "the wind" is always advantageous. In other words, God, the master of the wind itself, is always favorable to you, and always has a stone, a rock designed to receive you in case of a fall !

"But how could he still favor me, when all too often I stumble and make mistakes ... ?", You say to me. Simply because the favor, the blessing it gives you is not based on what you do or do not do, nor on your ability to always perform everything perfectly.

No, the favor God gives you is based on a much stronger fact ... the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. In this place, Jesus took all your faults and all your failings. And in return, he has granted you his perfect nature, which makes you right in the eyes of God, forever. (Hebrews 10.14)

That is why God can grant you, every day every second, his wonderful favor.

An encouragement for today

This story reminds you today that you can always trust God : He always has a plan for you. Jesus is your rock. Will you trust him for each of your challenges ?
