A little advice ?

Proverbs 9.8 - Do not reproach someone who laughs at everything, otherwise he will hate you (Word of Life).

I've always thought that taking away or even advising someone who doesn't care about advice is not a good thing. Now Solomon is of my opinion !

We see with sadness a lot of "Christian nonsense" on social media, but, even if sometimes this sadness turns into indignation, we are careful not to intervene. It’s not indifference, but we don’t want the breach to widen any further.

I believe that more and more Christians are becoming “un-teachable”. Rising contempt for authority, self-sufficiency, lack of questioning... make most of them stick to their convictions and anyone who ventures to "challenge" these beliefs becomes de facto an enemy.

Yet the gospel message is clear and simple : change your mind (or repent if you prefer). Changing mentality requires an open mind, accessible even to reproaches, because this person wants to progress and grow in faith. In verse 12, Solomon goes a little further by saying : "If you laugh at everything, you alone will bear the consequences" (Proverbs 9:12). So many people were shipwrecked because they did not want to listen to sound advice.

My beloveds, let us not be on the defensive. Whoever approaches us to try to open our eyes is not always ill-intentioned. Behind these interventions there can often be the Lord who wants to challenge us !

Good reflection.
