Christ suffered for you, leaving you an model to follow in his footsteps. 1 Peter 2. 21

The Bible encourages us to live and act by taking example from Jesus Christ, by considering his perfect life, his sacrifice on the cross, and his forgiveness offered to all.
"Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, as God has forgiven you in Christ. Become imitators of God, therefore, like beloved children ; and walk in charity, after the example of Christ, who loved us, and gave himself up to God for us as a sweet-smelling grain offering and sacrifice" (Ephesians 4:32-5:1,2).
"Do nothing out of partisanship or vainglory, but let humility cause you to regard others as above yourselves. Let each of you, instead of considering his own interests, also consider those of have in you the feelings that were in Christ Jesus, who, existing in the form of God, did not consider it prey to be snatched away to be equal with God, but emptied himself, taking a form of a servant, in front like men; and having appeared as a simple man, he humbled himself, making himself obedient unto the cross, even unto death on the cross" (Philippians 2 3-8).
“So therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on the bowels of mercy, kindness, humility, meekness, patience. Put up with each other, and if one has reason to complain of the other, forgive each other. As Christ forgave you, so forgive yourselves" (Colossians 3:12, 13).
