A perverse generation

These few thoughts about "inexcusable and rebellious to God" surprise and seem perhaps indigestible. They may be hard to swallow, but they must be. God asked the prophet Ezekiel to eat a scroll where it was written inside and out. "Lamentations, complaints, and groans were written there" (Ezek. 2:10). If Ezekiel had not eaten this roll, he would never have succeeded in serving God and ministering to the rebels.

Peter conjured and exhorted people to repent, saying : "Save yourself from this perverse generation." Unless we are an ostrich hiding our heads under the sand, we can not say that our generation lives in holiness. We can not imagine that unbelievers are not perverts. The sons of Eli were wicked men; they knew not the LORD. This is why they slept with the women who gathered at the entrance of the tent of meeting (1 Samuel 2: 12,22). It's perversity.

The book of proverbs thus describes the perverse man : "The perverse man, the unjust man, walks falsehood in his mouth. He blinks, speaks with his foot, makes signs with his fingers. The evil is in his heart, he meditates evil at all times, he excites quarrels. So his ruin will happen suddenly. He will be broken suddenly, and without remedy" (Proverbs 6: 12-15). Being small, I accompanied my parents to family meals and I discovered my uncles doing this. They blinked disgustingly, spoke with their feet, and made signs with their fingers. The Bible is not without words about the perverts. She says that God's enemies "are filled with all kinds of injustice, sexual immorality... and perversity" (Romans 1:29). Once converted, we must get rid of all forms of evil, to become a holy temple in the Lord. And the heart and the mouth of the holy temple that we are must cry to men : Save yourself from this perverse generation !
