One of the things I learned in my work is that the absence of a specific target can cause our actions to lose their strength. All companies selling products know that if their target is not clearly defined, then their ideas, no matter how good, will not be very successful. If, for example, you offer Playmobil for sale in a jewelery store, you will not sell it. The Playmobil may be a true global success, however, with three billion figurines distributed worldwide, if they had been sold in jewelery, the Playmobil company would have sunk.
When we look at how the techniques of selling a product work, we can ask ourselves questions about how we bring the gospel. This can make us think. In fact, these techniques are often inspired by principles God has established, but which have been twisted by selfish desires. The problem is not really the techniques (which are sometimes all natural), but the motivation that lies behind, can make some techniques impure.
Jesus used images on the job of farmer, winemaker, financial investor, banker, fisherman, seller, shepherd... to illustrate his words. That's why I found it interesting to make, for several days, the link between the sale of a product and the presentation of the Gospel. Of course, the announcement of the Gospel is supernatural, and this is what we will see this year, so do not be closed, because you may be surprised !
We have an excellent message, wonderful. The "product" we offer is the best in the world. There is none like it. There are many imitations, but they break quickly. Religions, philosophies, sects, esoteric movements and the like do not allow us to live in the peace that Christ offers us. Above all, our product brings to the one who receives it, accepts it and uses it, which no other product can bring : eternal life.
