I once heard a missionary talk about great revivals around the world. It was clear that in all cases "the spirit of prayer" was linked to the last harvest. In Vietnam, China, Siberia, Amazonia and Africa, the people of God pray with fervor and fervor - crying and crying to God, seeking His face, abandoning all sin and turning to righteousness.
You can not make this kind of inclination to prayer. It is the result of the spirit of supplication. We call for weeks of prayers at Times Square Church and experience a foretaste of this spill of the Spirit. Indeed, there is a measure of fire and perseverance in prayer throughout our nation, but we have not yet experienced the pouring out of the spirit of supplication.
God shows me that even the desire and the inclination to pray must come from the Holy Spirit. The answer is found in Zechariah 10: 1 : "Ask the Lord the rain, the spring rain! The LORD will bring forth lightnings, and he will send you abundant rain, and he will give every one grass in his field"
We must ask the Lord the spirit of supplication: He says to us in Zechariah : "Ask and I will give you this burden that comes from Heaven. But you must seek Him from Me."
It is time that we began to ask the Lord : "O Lord, pour out your Holy Spirit upon me, that I may learn to pray! Open the fountain and let me be part of Your last harvest !"
Once His spirit of supplication has been poured out on you, you will find yourself praying for holiness and purity. You will pray for those you love and who are lost and you will cry on this world that is dying. But you must ask the Holy Spirit to do it in you - and then wait for Him !
