A titanic project !

It was by faith that Noah built an ark to save his family. Hebrews 11.7

If there is one controversial biblical story, it is that of the deluge. How to believe in such an extravagant story ? Wouldn't that be a legend ? If the Christian subscribes to it without reservation, it is by faith, the same faith that animated Noah. Faith is taking God at His Word, accepting without doubt that the Bible is His inspired Word. If the Christian doubts it, it is because his faith is on the way out.

Noah's faith was extraordinary in trust in what God had revealed to him. To build a ship as gigantic as the ark must have been, some 140 meters long, 25 meters wide and 15 meters high, really required gigantic faith. And Noah built it, for he had this faith, having found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Several passages of the Bible testify to the authenticity of the flood. Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jesus, and the apostle Peter attest to this. Noah, called "a preacher of righteousness", kept warning his countrymen of the coming of divine judgment on the world, because of the perversion of the human race (2 Peter 2.5).

Numerous geological researches have shown that traces of a giant cataclysm exist in several regions of the globe, as in the writings of very ancient civilizations. It is not being naïve to believe in all of Holy Scripture, even if no one has been able to find any vestige of the ark. This is faith !
