A true worshiper

Weren't the ten (lepers) healed ? And the other nine, where are they? Was he only found and a stranger to come back and give glory to God ? Luke 17:17,18

Jesus is going up to Jerusalem for the last time. Passing through Samaria, he meets ten lepers who recognize his lordship and implore his mercy. He sends them to the priests, for they were the only ones authorized to judge the healing of leprosy (Leviticus 13:8,44). Along the way, their faith receives an answer : they are all healed.

Only one returns to Jesus. He is a Samaritan, a man hated by the Jews ! By faith, he discerned in Jesus a love and a power which made him glorify God and throw himself at Jesus feet. So the Samaritan realizes that he whom he called Jesus, master, is God, the only one who has the power to heal leprosy. It is therefore God whom he glorifies aloud by prostrating himself at the feet of Jesus. Beautiful lesson in adoration !

The Christian had the same experience as this leper. God did a great miracle for him. He revealed Himself to Him in the Son who cleansed Himself from sins (Hebrews 1:3). It is the blood of Christ that cleanses the believer of his sins. He purifies his conscience from dead works (Hebrews 9:14), those works marked by sin and which lead to death. He gives him access to God (Hebrews 10:19) and the believer can worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).

It is therefore amazed by the greatness of the miracle of which he is the object that the Christian recognizes in Jesus, the author of his eternal salvation (Hebrews 5:9), God himself manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16). He meditates in admiration on the mystery of the Incarnation and the annihilation of Jesus who took the form of a man to humble himself until the death on the cross (Philippians 2:6-11). His heart overflows with gratitude and the Spirit communicates to him the proper expressions to glorify the Father and the Son and to exalt, by adoring, the work of the cross.

Worship stems from the revelation that God gives of himself to those he has redeemed. The Spirit teaches them about Christ and how Jesus revealed the Father.
