The devil greatly fears the presence of the Lord in our lives. He trembles at the mere thought of a closeness between a believer and Jesus. Then, when his demonic hordes see you entering into prayer and approaching you in the presence of your heavenly Father, all hell takes note : "The Lord is with this believer. He got the divine presence. What can we do against him now ?"
Satan will do everything in his power to steal the presence of the Lord. It is for this reason that he makes so many attempts to bog your soul in the worries about the future.
To put it simply, the Enemy of your soul wants to drain all your strength. He will use all he can, even "good" things, to prevent you from spending time alone with Jesus. He knows that the time you spend with Christ makes you able to endure fear and anxiety, even in the most agonizing times.
The whole world is aware of the fact that we face particularly difficult times and as Christians each of us confronts an important question : "How close am I to Jesus at this time ?"
I believe that when things are shaken, the most powerful testimony a Christian can have is to be completely at peace. While the rest of society panics - falls into failure, and even in some cases dies of fear - the believer who prays will become stronger and stronger. It will be so because this holy servant receives more and more encouragement from the Holy Spirit. The Bible speaks of what can not be shaken !
If you want to be able to stand firm in the storm, the advice of Scripture is simple: you must have the presence of the Lord in your life, daily.
How much time do you spend alone with Jesus ? Are you getting closer and closer to him every day ? Do you pray constantly - silently calling on Him all day and evening ? He promised to hear your cry, even when it is emitted in weakness.
