Admitted to the White House

"Now our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ." 1 John 1: 3

Peter Jones received an unexpected letter with the President of the United States of America in the White House. Very surprised, he goes there on the day said. It is not his amazement to see that the President himself is waiting for him at the door, welcomes him warmly and makes him sit in the famous Oval Office. He puts Peter at ease and begins to talk about the important issues he is dealing with at this time. He also plotted Peter ahead of the next few years. Then he proposes to continue the interview during a meal and passes it in the private dining room. Some important personalities of his administration are assembled there; The President's own son, whom the latter closely associates with his decisions, is also present. The exchanges continue, always as cordial and exciting. When the lunch was over, the President accompanied his visitor to the door and said : "I have an important mission to entrust to you: would you accept it ? ". "Of course, it will be a great honor for me," Peter Jones replied immediately. And the great man describes to him what he expects of him whom he considers his friend. Returning home, Peter Jones remains dazzled by what he has experienced; He spoke of it to his wife, to his friends, who only half believed him. With zeal and enthusiasm, he tackles the task entrusted by the President ...

Let us stop there the allegory. We know someone who is far above the President of the world's first power : the Creator of the universe, whose plans are never defeated, whose wisdom, power and love Combine to bring everything to the end that he foresaw. And we are admitted to his communion, we have access to his intimacy, he does us the honor to be his collaborators ! If Peter Jones was transformed by his visit to the White House, how much more should we be transformed by the vision of the God of glory, the Father full of love, the Master to serve ! Peter was not entitled to the privacy of the president; We are not entitled to the intimacy of God. It is by pure grace that he welcomes us, reveals his plans and entrusts us with services. But this intimacy, cultivated by reading the Bible and prayer, should transform our lives and revive our zeal.
