After the agony, the comfort and the succor

When the disciples prayed after the threats of the religious leaders, the place where they were gathered shook and then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they announced the word of God with assurance. They met the power of God. The agony prayer brings fulfillment and glory. It brings God to reveal himself and he manifests himself. He responds and sends his fire just as he did in the Old Testament of Sacrifice. He was coming, and he was consuming the sacrifice. He revealed himself with power, encouraging his people in his action.

I believe that what brought God to visit the disciples in this way was, of course, their prayer of faith, but also the fact that he knew their sincerity. And God was not wrong. They announced the Word of God. They did their part, then God did his part, and then they continued doing theirs. They did not expect God to do everything for them.

After Jesus resisted the devil in the wilderness, angels came to him and served him. In the Garden of Gethsemane an angel from heaven appeared to him and fortified him (Luke 22:43). After the Apostle Paul was persecuted and settled more quietly in a man's house, the Lord told him in a vision during the night : "Do not be afraid, but speak and do not do not stop, because I am with you and nobody will attack you to hurt you. Indeed, I have many people in this city" (Acts 18: 9-10). While King Herod began to mistreat members of the Church, he killed John's brother James by the sword and had Peter arrested to kill him. Pierre, fastened with two chains, slept between two soldiers; sentinels posted in front of the door guarded the prison. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord came and a light shone in the cell. The angel awoke Peter and brought him out. This happened more than once, as they proclaimed the gospel. As Paul and the 275 people on the boat thought they were dying, an angel of the Lord appeared to him and fortified him by telling him not to fear. Fortify yourself and take courage! Do not be afraid and do not be afraid of unbelievers, because God will walk with you. He will not forsake you, he will not forsake you (Deuteronomy 31: 6).
