All have sinned

This word is certain and worthy of being accepted without reservation : Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. 1 Timothy 1.15

All have sinned

Many people find it difficult to accept the biblical statement : "There is no difference : all have sinned" (Romans 3:22,23). However, envy, anger, lies, violence sometimes... are they absent from our thoughts, our actions ? We can try to find excuses for them, but they are there.

God puts all humans on the same level. He does not compare them with each other, he affirms that all are sinners, without excuse, and deserve divine condemnation, whatever their origin, their social position... For God is holy, he cannot bear evil.

But for God this observation is not without issue. Jesus, his Son, came to take away the sin of those who recognize themselves as sinners. His affirmation : "I did not come to call for the righteous, but for sinners" is recorded in three Gospels (Matthew 9. 13 ; Mark 2. 17 ; Luke 5. 32). So there is no Flavor except for sinners !

So that if someone thinks that they have nothing to reproach themselves with before God, they miss out on the salvation that God offers. If he does not need forgiveness, there is no Savior for him either. But beware ! The Bible also says : "How will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation ?" (Hebrews 2.3).

The God who created us loves us and "desires that all men be saved" (1 Timothy 2. 4). Do we want this salvation ? If we don't want it, what can we hope for ?
