We read in Acts 1: 1 : "Dear Theophilus, in my first book, I spoke of all that Jesus began to do and teach." Have you ever realized that Jesus only started to do ? Oh yes he did everything perfectly and wonderfully, but in what he had to do in his body. He perfectly fulfilled God's plan for his life in the flesh. But since then, Jesus wants to work among us, in us, but also through us. He wants to continue sharing the good news, he wants to keep healing and delivering, but how is he going to do it ? He will do it through us.
We need to realize that the same Jesus who was on earth and who was healing is the same one who lives in us. Remember Jesus who went to Peter's house one day. He saw her mother-in-law lying down with a fever. He touched her hand and the fever left her ; then she got up and served him (Matthew 8: 14-15). Do you think that after his death, Jesus decided to no longer heal or do good ? No, because he is just risen to continue to act !
This Jesus, who spent his time freeing all who were under the control of the devil, can not stop. Jesus loves to do good to people too much. So, today, Jesus is in a way limited to his new body, that is, to all born-again believers.
For example, you can find yourself at any meal, whether at your lunch break, or when visiting family, or a special outing, and here is a sick woman is sitting on a table close from you. Jesus wants to heal her. Yes, it is always God's will to heal. Oh, if Jesus was in his flesh body, he would certainly get up and put his hand on her, and his illness would leave her. But now, his new body that is currently in this restaurant is you. So Jesus is limited by the power of your decision, your submission to his will, your faith, your legs and your mouth. What will happen in the next few minutes ?
