An encouragement drawn of his word

I recommend that you take the time to read the powerful words found in Psalms 142 and 143 to encourage your faith. As I read them, I wondered what David was going through when he said : "When my spirit is slain within me, you know my path" (142: 3). He repeats it in Psalm 143: 4: "My spirit is slain within me, My heart is troubled in my bosom." David actually said to God : "I am drowning in trouble. I am under attack from my enemies. This brings me down. "He cried to the Lord," Be attentive to my cries ! For I am very unhappy ... Take my soul out of prison" (142: 6-7).

Beloved, these words are written for our good, for our instruction. This is an encouragement to all those among the people of God who are overwhelmed by problems and afflictions.

The truth is that the majority of us live in a world where life can completely overtake us at times. Like David, we find ourselves confronted with a surge of trials, we are afflicted even as we walk in righteousness.

It is in these moments when we are overwhelmed that we learn to seek God and that we learn to cry in our suffering. David said : "I pour out my complaint before him, I tell him of my distress" (142: 2). "Hear me in your faithfulness" (143: 1). Are you at this very moment overwhelmed by the circumstances of your life ? Do what David did :

"I lay my hands on you ; My soul sighs after you, like a dried up earth" (143: 6).

Be encouraged. God has everything under his control! It will meet your need at the right time.
