An obstacle on the road

God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength ; but with temptation he will also prepare the way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10. 13

An obstacle on the road

On the way to the station, we are surprised by a traffic jam : no way to move forward. The minutes pass : will we arrive on time ?... We then discover that a vehicle has broken down, without a driver, abandoned on the one-way lane. A reverse gear, and here we are on a secondary road which allows us to bypass the obstacle.

Small inconvenience without consequence, but instructive because it reminds us of a truth : God allows us to meet obstacles, without us always understanding why. In God's school, we are subjected to "exercises" (situations that can be difficult) : they teach us to know Jesus better and the resources he offers us.

Our Heavenly Father allows hardships of a duration and intensity that are appropriate for each of us. But let us remember this : Jesus loves us and he wants to be with us to go through these difficulties.

The apostle Paul writes : "Do not worry about anything, but in everything make your needs known to God by prayers and supplications in an attitude of gratitude" (Philippians 4:6). In all circumstances, for big difficulties like small inconveniences, pray ! "And the peace of God, which is beyond all comprehension, will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus" (v. 7). The darkness of your worry can be illuminated by this peace.
