An offer of peace

Indeed, God was in Christ : he reconciled the world to himself, by not charging men with their faults, and he put in us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19

Here we have one of the most wonderful verses in the Bible. He first reminds us that men are naturally - often unwittingly - at war with God, but that he offers them the means to be reconciled with him. This treaty of peace, God implemented by means of the cross of his Son Jesus Christ. Indeed, it is in order to be able to forgive us our sins that God condemned his Son in our place. Thus, the conditions of this treaty have been fulfilled. It is now up to men, whoever they are, to accept it and in turn fulfill the conditions to be its beneficiaries.

To enable men to be reconciled with him, God entrusts the message of peace to those who have already made peace with him, that is to say the Christians. Those whom he called by Christ go to the ends of the world to carry this message of reconciliation.

Dear reader, are you really at peace with God ? Are you sure that your sins are forgiven because you confessed them to Him by believing in the value of Christ's sacrifice? If not, I tell you with the apostle Paul : “Be reconciled to God !"

Proposed reading : Book of the Prophet Isaiah, chapter 9, verses 5 and 6.

9.5 For unto us a child is given, unto us a son is given, and sovereignty shall be upon his shoulder ; He will be called wonderful counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of peace.

9.6 Extend sovereignty, and give peace without end to the throne of David and his kingdom, and to establish it and uphold it in law and in righteousness, from now on and forevermore : this is what the zeal of the Lord will do, the master of the universe.
