And you, how is your life ?

Monday July 5, 2021

But these were written so that you would believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you would have life in his name. John 20. 31

Choose life so that you and your offspring live, loving the Lord your God, obeying him and clinging to him. Yes, it is on him that your life and its duration depend. Deuteronomy 30. 19, 20

And you, how is your life ?

A children's choir had titled a musical performance. The different staging and song represented the passing life, with its ups and downs : birth, childhood, adolescence, love, marriage, childbirth, separation, death. It was sobering.

From time to time it is useful to take stock of our way of life. Some people think that to live your life fully, you have to free yourself from all tutelage, especially that of God. We give ourselves the right to do what we want. It is forgetting that to God our Creator are due honor and submission. He says to us : "Seek me, and you will live !" (Amos 5.4). Without a relationship with God, we walk towards death, that is, eternal separation from him. He invites us to choose eternal life, that which has its source in him, and which continues after physical death. She is in Jesus, the Son of God, and was seen in him, come to this earth. "In fact, life has been manifested ; we have seen it, we are witnesses of it and we proclaim it to you, this eternal life which was with the Father and which was manifested to us" (1 John 1.2). It will be ours if we believe in it. "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life ; whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him" (John 3:36).

Jesus is then, for those who believed in him, the example to follow in order to live a life that pleases God. The believer will then be able to grow in knowledge and no longer live for himself but for the One who for him died and was resurrected (2 Corinthians 5:15).
