Another failure

We do not know what to ask... Besides, we know that everything contributes to the good of those who love God, of those who are called according to his plan. Romans 8:26, 28

Another failure

The results have just been released, Emily failed her exam again! The whole family is sorry. Emily has accumulated a lot of failures for lack of self-confidence. Many prayed that the Lord would finally grant him a success to encourage him... But no ! A severe blow to his morale... and to his faith ! A lost year, unnecessary prayers... Why, Lord ?

At first glance, failures seem negative, even destructive to some. Are we going to challenge ourselves to be sorry to accuse the Lord, to forget this promise : "Everything contributes to the good of those who love God" ?

A lot of times we think short term, based on the evidence we have. But God sees further, he sees the invisible and eternal things. For him, a failure does not mean a wasted year ! During this year, God took care of Emily. He taught her to know him better, to put her confidence in him... She progressed in her Christian life, which is much more important than academic success.

Faith in God who loves us allows us to overcome disappointments, peacefully and without rebellion. Trusting the Lord's infallible love and wisdom honors him, and can encourage our loved ones.

Failure sometimes seems inexplicable or even unfair to us. In heaven, we will see that the Lord had his reasons and wanted our good...

Let us look at our model : Jesus was happy to submit simply : Yes, Father, I am grateful to you because this is what you wanted"(Matthew 11:26).
