It is surprising to see how we can forget the essential in our lives. We can spend days without looking at the sky. We do not pay attention to it, too concerned about many things. Yet the sky is there, above our heads, at all times. We say to live for God, to love him and to serve him, we say to be Christians, and we often forget the essential.
Mark tells us the words of Jesus : "Go by all, and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:15). Jesus carried this command in his heart as a woman carries a baby in her belly. The proclamation of the Gospel was for Jesus, not an obligation, not a religious duty, but an intense desire, a burden, a normal action that emanated from his love. Jesus loves people. God loves people.
The reality is that everyone can announce the gospel. There is a cartoon called "Ratatouille", and it says that "Anyone can cook". In this cartoon, a mouse, hidden under the hat of a young clumsy cook, cooks through him, directing his hands pulling his hair to the right and left, down and up. It's a beautiful picture of what God can do with us, if we just let ourselves be used by him.
Yes, all of God's children can proclaim the gospel. We do not need to be special, we do not need to be pastor or evangelist, we do not need to be converted for months.
A young man, converted for a few days, asked me for an appointment. He seemed anxious and troubled. He said to me : "I can not announce the gospel to everyone. I announce the Gospel only to 10 or 15 people a day."
You see, it was a spiritual "baby" and it proclaimed the gospel more than the majority of old Christians !
