Approach the throne !

“With a loud voice I cry out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.” Psalm 3.5

Who do you turn to when you find yourself in a moment of distress, doubt, pain, grief ? No human being can, or should attempt to shoulder your burden. God never intended to put friends or relatives by your side who could carry it out for you. He planned to wear it Himself. Someone said : “When the need arises, approach the throne, not the telephone !” In other words, cry out to God, He is sovereign, nothing can dethrone Him, but don't rush to the phone to call someone. Scream, beg, get carried away, God is patient and He is ready to wait until you have finished shouting all your bitterness and distress to answer you. God did not approach Job as long as he was talking with his “friends”. He waited until he calmed down to come and show him His power and His justice. Dump your anger and frustration on Him, He knows how you feel before He listens to you. All humans are imperfect beings, who will let you down one day or another. The only one who will always answer you is the One who reigns “in His holy mountain”. Isaiah records God's words : “Even before they call on me, I will answer them; even before they have finished speaking, I will answer them” (Isaiah 65:24). And then you will discover, just like Job, that it is not so much His answers that count as His presence with us. Before being able to say : “I have spoken, without understanding them, of marvels that are beyond me and that I do not know” (Job 42. 3).
