Are you ready(e) for the Lord's return ?

Searching the Scriptures

May the sky rejoice, may the earth rejoice, may the sea resound with all that it contains, may the countryside and all that is in it rejoice, may all the trees of the forests grow shouting for joy before the Lord, for he is coming. Yes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth. Psalm 96.11-13

The psalmist presents here a very beautiful picture of the surrounding nature, rejoicing at the prospect of a special and glorious climax, that of the coming of the Lord in all his power and in all his glory to judge and reign.

The psalmist speaks of the heavens, the sea, the fields and the trees. All are waiting, all desire to welcome in praise and joy the coming of the Lord.

What about you and me ? Are we ready, like nature, for this great apotheosis ? In the letter to the Romans, Paul says : "The whole creation sighs and suffers the pangs of childbirth waiting to share in the freedom of the glory of the children of God." All creation burns to see coming incessantly this great and glorious day of the majestic return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

May God grant us who proclaim ourselves Christians to be no less feverish and impatient to see this great day than are the trees, the fields, the seas and the heavens. Let’s be as willing as they are themselves.

Listen to the voice of God

Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Like nature, are you ready(e) for the Lord's return ?

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord, help me to be ready(e) for your return. May I give myself entirely to you for the advancement of your Kingdom, in order to hasten your return !"

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, thank you for this beautiful day when you will come to seek us to be with you. Yours be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
