Are you satisfied with your life ?

Search the Scriptures

Examine yourself to see if you are in the faith ; put yourselves to the test. Don't you recognize that Jesus Christ is in you ? Unless maybe you're disqualified. 2 Corinthians 13.5 NBS Version 21

During our childhood, our parents and family set standards and rules for our lives. Later, this role is fulfilled by teachers, employers and others.

Eventually we understand that God is the ultimate judge, that we will all stand before him. We learn his standards from his Word. We can also know that the Holy Spirit is present in our lives to convict us of our sin and show us if we need to change.

As Paul prepared to go to Corinth, he said he was ready to confront some and correct others, warning that he would spare no one (2 Corinthians 13:3). He wanted them to know that he was not expressing his own opinions, but was acting with the authority given to him by Jesus.

Paul hoped the Corinthians would recognize the need for change. They didn't have to wait for his visit. They could examine themselves !

While he hoped they would take the initiative, he wanted them to understand that he also had a responsibility. His ministry would indeed be tested according to the degree of change of the Corinthians : "I do hope that you will recognize that we are not disqualified." (2 Corinthians 13.6).

Today you can imagine the apostle Paul speaking to you in the same way he spoke to the Corinthians.

Listen the voice of God

Are you satisfied with your life ? Are you open to the work of the Spirit and ready to change as He directs you ? Listen to God speak to you today.

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is a sample prayer : "Father, reveal any sin in my life. Help me to examine myself and make changes so that I will be pleasing in your sight. In the name of Jesus, amen."

Praise God

Generally speaking, we don't like to be tested. Yet it is what allows us to see ourselves in truth and to reestablish our trajectory. Today you can thank God, who teaches you and assists you by his Holy Spirit, as a good father and a good teacher.

Act today

When you feel tested by God, silence your emotions. Stop thinking of yourself as an unfortunate victim. Rather, step into a new understanding of his fatherly love for you. He is testing you, for He desires your growth in all areas of your life !

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you, Holy Spirit, you are the most wonderful and righteous of teachers ! Yours be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
