Assume the change

"[...] go into the land that I will show you" Genesis 12.1

How would you feel if God asked you to leave your job, sell your house and go to an unknown city ?

This is what happened to Abraham, then 75 years old, and to Sarah, 65 years old. "Leave your country, your kinsman and your father's house, and go into the land that I will show you." Why would God ask them ? Because he has in mind a specific destiny for each of us !

He promised Abraham, "I will bring forth a great nation from thee, and I will bless thee, and make thy name famous : thou shalt be a blessing unto others" (Genesis 12: 2). Without any hesitation, Abraham performed, trusted God, and reaped incredible rewards. No wonder the Bible calls him the father of faith.

To walk with God and fulfill his will, you must be able to adapt to change, sometimes costly and uncomfortable. How to do ? "By faith" (Hebrews 11: 8). Faith in Whom ? You ? Others ? No. Faith in the benevolence of God !

Did you know that those who take on change instead of resisting it are less stressed, healthier, and often happier ? So develop a "spirit of change". Get out of your routine and make new habits.

If you really want to, ask your friends and family to point out areas where you are still inflexible. Where to start ? By following this Word : "Discharge Him from all your cares, for He cares for you" (1 Peter 5: 7).

Action for Today

Adopt this principle: where God guides, it provides.
