Assume your responsibility as a parent

"What a man sows he will also reap." Galatians 6. 7

Nowadays, we do little to protect our values. Our justice is often celebrity justice : only the "little people" pay for their crimes while others, crowned with prestige and carried by their fame, escape the rigors of human justice. Yet we must teach our children the value of responsibility, otherwise life will mark them hard. "What a man sows he will also reap." Parents, take responsibility for your children. It requires that you stop excusing them when they start breaking the rules, having bad relationships, when they get caught up in the “cool” experiences they think are drugs, alcohol or sex before. marriage, whether they decide to cheat on their exams or spend sleepless nights having fun in trendy places. Is it too much to ask these days ? The law of gravity has never changed, neither has the law of sowing and reaping ! Your naive yet sincere excuse that "I want them to take advantage of everything I didn't have in my youth" will turn your spoiled children into unhappy adults. Prevention is better than cure : build a barrier at the edge of the cliff, rather than bringing them to the hospital when they have broken their legs, or worse. You say : “When I come home at night, I'm too tired to take care of and discipline them.” When they find themselves in court charged with drunk driving or hit-and-run, do you think the judge will accept your apologies ? Do you imagine that the bank will be lenient when they are unable to pay their monthly repayments ? Kindness is often weakness, disguised cruelty, if it does not come with responsibility. The priest Eli had reached the peak of his profession, but had not fulfilled his family responsibilities. As a result, he and his sons died prematurely on the same day. God said : “I told him, I want to punish his family forever. In fact, he had knowledge of the crime by which his sons cursed themselves and he did not reproach them” (1 Samuel 3. 13 KJV 21). So assume your responsibilities !
