At the school of God

"You rejoice in it, even if you must now be saddened for a little while by all kinds of trials, which test the value of your faith." 1 Peter 1.6-7

To build your faith, God will give you a dream, and then he will urge you to make a decision. After that, however, it will mark a waiting time, during which it will make you ripen and prepare you for the sequel.

Moses obeyed God, which did not prevent him from having problems.

The truth is that this delay will seem difficult to you. But if God differs from the realization of your dream, it is not because he is not busy with you or has forgotten you; It is one of the means he has chosen to deepen your faith.

During this waiting period, you will be confronted with two types of difficulties: circumstances and criticism. They are part of life. God wanted it so because he knows that adversity and difficulties make us stronger.

When Moses brought the children of Israel out of Egypt to lead them to the Promised Land, he encountered one problem after another. At first there was no water. Then it was the food that was missing. After that, he had to face a gang of malcontents, and finally to poisonous snakes. Moses obeyed God, which did not prevent him from having problems.

After being anointed king, David spent several years to be chased by Saul. In his dream, Joseph had been led by others, and yet he was sold into slavery and then wrongly thrown into prison, where he was mortified for many years, forgotten by all. And imagine the difficulties that Noah met to build a floating zoo !

The Bible tells us that after the death of Moses Joshua succeeded him. Moses had led the people through the desert, and it was Joshua who brought him into the Promised Land. Did he have the easiest role ? The Bible says that when the Israelites came to the gates of Canaan, the country was inhabited by giants. There were problems even in the Promised Land !

God is acting to build our faith and character. When we finally reach a stage where difficulties are too great, where we have reached our limits, where we have tried everything and exhausted all our options, then God begins a powerful work through us : "[... ] Even if you must now be saddened for a little while by all kinds of trials, which serve to test the value of your faith" (1 Peter 1: 6-7).

An attitude for today

Can you be going through tough times right now ? Do not give up. Believe that God wants to use these moments to strengthen your faith. Remember that he brings all things to your good.
