Attention, reading this will already teach you !

Acts 8:30 and 31 - Philip came running and heard the Ethiopian reading the prophet Isaiah. He said to him : “Do you understand what you are reading ?". He replied : “How can I, unless someone guides me ?". And he invited Philip to come up and sit down with him.

This answer was given by an Ethiopian minister. He was reading the prophet Isaiah but he probably didn't understand much of it. The Evangelist Philip was sent by the Lord to meet him to teach and baptize him.

I took this text because today a large number of “Christians” are no longer teachable ! He confuses two very distinct periods of their walk with God : the call and the exercise of the ministry. Many believe ministry begins when they receive a prophetic word or when they feel an urgent call from the Lord. It is not enough to say : "I have been prophesied that I have the gift of healing or such a ministry", it will be verified when you have effectively healed the sick or demonstrated the fruits of the ministry, you see what I mean ? My friends, the call is only the beginning of a path of formation !

If you are sick and you go to the doctor, would you agree to allow yourself to be treated if he said : "I have not done any studies but I was keen to treat the sick, so I opened a cabinet" ! Of course not, that's wisdom itself. So why don't God's people have that same wisdom ?

The doctor who graduated may not have liked studying, his teachers surely exasperated him, but... he submitted to the discipline of teaching because there was no other shortcuts.

God will place “Philips” on your path to teach you. They will have the necessary experience to equip you. You can invoke before God that you do not like studies and that you like this person even less, that he annoys you ; if you refuse education, the result will be that you will make many mistakes because you do not understand anything like our Ethiopian ! If a person of his rank knew how to "humble himself" in order to learn, with all the more reason we need to allow ourselves to be taught and perhaps we will be able to surpass in grace and in power the teacher that the Lord will have placed on our road.
