As Christians, we spend a lot of time praying : "Lord, please do this" or "Please, Lord, do this." We constantly ask God to do Something. "Please bring my son or daughter home. Give me a better job."
These are good and valid prayers. But there are times when God decides to do something of Himself, and all He seeks is someone who agrees with Him - someone who will not only pray : "Please, Lord" but "Yes, Lord !"
For example, through the prophet Ezekiel, God said : "I seek among them a man who raises up a wall, who stands before me in behalf of the land, that I may not destroy it; But I find none" (Ezekiel 22:30). It was a time when God had already begun to show mercy and He was just looking for someone who would agree with Him. Unfortunately, when society reaches a condition like ours, today it is much easier to give reasons why judgment should come. But what if God wants to be merciful and just looking for someone among His people to say : "Yes, Lord" ?
I do not want to spend my whole life of prayer on the side of "Please, Lord." I want to live on the side of "Yes, Lord," and find what I have to do !
"Yes, Lord, what do you want me to do ? Yes, Lord, how do You want me to do it ? Yes, Lord, what do you want me to say ? Yes, Lord, where do you want me to go ?" "Yes, Lord" must be our prayer today !
