Be gentle

Searching the Scriptures

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth ! Matthew 5.5

A former soldier once told me his testimony : "We had a young soldier in our company who was a staunch Christian. One evening he came home tired, wet and muddy. But before going to bed, as usual. He knelt down to pray. I then took my soaked and muddy shoes, and threw them violently against him ; but he continued to pray, as if nothing had happened. The next morning, I found, with surprise, my shoes. neatly waxed and tucked away at the head of my bed. I had persecuted him, that was his answer ! So much gentleness overwhelmed me: the very day I gave my life to Jesus Christ."

In this world of violence, we too often show proof of our bad character. Sometimes we let out our anger. Other times, we overreact when we are the victims of an injustice.

However, the Bible encourages us : "Be right in the midst of unbelievers, so that, even where they slander you as if you were doing evil, they will notice your beautiful way of doing things and give glory to God by day. where he will intervene." (1 Peter 2.12)

Jesus on the cross is the perfect model, as well as the true author of meekness. Let us approach him so that he teaches us meekness, as he did for this Christian soldier !

Listen to the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Let God make a change in you to be more like him, the author of meekness.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord Jesus, fill me with your meekness and your love. You call me to be like you by loving my enemies and blessing them."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you Lord because only you can change my heart. Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
