Be impacting !

"You are our letter ... known and read of all men." 2 Corinthians 3.2

With deep pessimism Ecclesiastes writes : "There is such a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is such a wicked one who prolongs his existence in his wickedness." Ecclesiastes 7.15

This discourse brings into the hearts of believers this sad question : "What is the point of practicing justice ?"

"Our practice of justice can have an everlasting influence in the lives of those who observe us."

The Apostle Paul reminds us that walking in justice is the best way to impact those around us. "We are a letter read." He tells us that the lives of believers, their actions, their words, their behavior, and therefore their righteous works, are a testimony to the eyes of the world watching them. If our works are right, they will have a positive impact, if they are bad, they will have a negative impact. When we practice what is right, let us remember that. Our practice of justice can have an eternal influence in the lives of those who observe us.

After holding a series of evangelistic meetings in a certain city, a pastor was at the airport to board the plane to return home. There, he went to the counter to recover the ticket he had reserved. He paid with his credit card and went to sit in the waiting room. As he looked at his ticket, he noticed that the hostess had only cashed him half the price. For a moment he thought that God was good to give him this gift because his travel expenses had not been fully supported, but soon he changed his mind and went back to the hostess, saying : "I think you made a mistake on the amount collected, I owe you half of the ticket." Then the hostess said to her : "I was at the meeting yesterday evening where you talked about Jesus changing lives and making thieves honest, I wanted to test you, and see if you live this as you preach, your attitude encourages me to return to church."

What good is it to practice justice ? That, by our way of living, those who observe us will see the Lord. The practice of justice in Daniel and his three friends finally brought the King of Babylon's attention to the God of the Hebrews and proclaimed : "I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and glorify the King of heaven, all of whose works are true and the just ways..." Daniel 4.34 The righteous life of Daniel influenced the king of Babylon.
