Be satisfied

"It is not in view of my needs that I say this, for I have learned to be content with the state in which I find myself." Philippians 4.11

It was a day like nobody likes them, except the farmers, since the weather was horrible. On seeing me arrive at the church soaked to the knees, and complaining of this inclemency, an elder who was very ill looked at me and said : "Yannis, thank God for this new day which he gives you !"

Ah the dissatisfaction ! It is recurrent in the heart of the man who has great difficulty in being satisfied with what he is or possesses ... "My life would be really better if ..."

Are you the type to complain ? Or did the Apostle Paul teach you to be satisfied with what God gives you ?

Frustration, disappointment, bitterness, guilt ... This is a state of mind that spoils the present moment and prevents you from enjoying the blessings of God.

Certainly, all of us, could enumerate millions of things that could embellish our lives. But that does not mean that we would be satisfied and that our complaints would stop. In the wilderness, the people of Israel have given us proof by putting aside all the miracles of God in their favor. "They quickly forgot what he had done ..." Psalms 106.13

The real satisfaction is the result of a deep relationship with God. The latter must be every day, the primary concern of our thoughts, knowing that its presence is more than enough to satisfy us on a daily basis. "Make the kingdom of God your primary concern, and all the rest will be given to you more." Luke 12:31.

Thanksgiving for today

Father, I thank you for all that you do in my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
