Be yourself !

Seeing him, Peter said to Jesus : And this, Lord, what will happen to him ? Jesus said to him : If I want him to live until I return, what is that to you ? John 21.21-22

Pierre was intrigued. The Lord had just revealed things to him about his future, and rather than thinking about it, his mind was above all curious to know the destiny of his friend. What will happen to him ? Will his life be better than mine ? Is his call greater than mine? Will he have a more inspiring life than me ? All these questions must have been jostling within him.

You probably know this saying : "The grass is greener elsewhere". This expression is used when we imagine that the situation of another is better than ours. To contradict this thought, I heard this: "The grass is not greener elsewhere, it is green where it is watered." And I will add that if it happened to be greener elsewhere, it is probably because it is better maintained.

Living the life of another, dreaming of having the call of so-and-so or the impact and stature of such-and-such, has tickled many people. One day a woman in the church made herself ill from longing for the life of another.

When you try to be another person, you are often pathetic and without impact. You've probably watched someone talk about something they weren't interested in. How does he behave ? What is his tone ? Certainly boring. Conversely, as soon as a person talks about a theme that fascinates him, then everything changes. Her posture, her tone, her whole body light up and vibrate, her eyes start to sparkle.

What makes you and not someone else is what ignites you, electrifies you. I believe that any person, from the moment they are in their place, and speaks about what burns in them, becomes exciting and interesting. If you push the right levers of who you really are, then a lion, a lioness will come out.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. Is there something still holding you back from fully being who you are ?

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, forgive me all the times when I have envied and wanted to be another person thinking that the grass is greener for them. I want to be myself, just as you have done: unique. Amen."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now, deepen what you have received. What can you put in place to apply what God has told you ? Write down concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, you are the one who made me exist. I praise you for being such a marvelous creature. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
