Become a contact case !

Searching the Scriptures

The Son of Man (Jesus) came, he eats and he drinks, and they say : "He is a glutton and a drinker, a friend of tax collectors and sinners." Matthew 11.19 King James Version

With the Covid, we have lived in confinement upon confinement, in order to avoid contact between people and the spread of the virus.

At school level, a class could be closed in the event of a "contact case". This was the case recently for my daughters.

In Jesus' day, the law of Moses was in effect. In order to limit the spread of diseases, such as leprosy, but also in order to preserve the purity or holiness of the people of Israel, it was forbidden to approach certain types of people or to touch a dead person.

It is in this context that Jesus' behavior is shocking ! He touches the sick, the dead and the lepers, he is in constant contact with "tax collectors and sinners", according to the standards of the time.

Are we not called to be like Jesus ? To leave our comfort zones in order to come into contact with our colleagues, our neighbors, our entourage to "contaminate" them with the love of God ?

Let us spread the virus of the Lord's love through our actions and then proclaim the good news of his sacrifice for our sins, of his resurrection for our justification, and of his return for our deliverance !

Listen to the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Which specific person (s) are you calling to approach ?

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, help me to 'infect' all those around me with your love. Fill me with your love, until it overflows on others !"

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, thank you because you did not hesitate to leave your comfort zone to save me. Yours be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
