Break the mold !
Searching the Scriptures
Beloved, do not imitate evil, but good. He who does good is of God, he who does evil has not seen God. 3 John 1.11
The world we live in day by day continually tries to conform to its image. The word conform means "to be alike in form and character ; to behave according to fashions and customs."
Romans 12.2 says "Do not conform to the present world..." and 3 John 1.11 teaches us : "Beloved, do not imitate evil, but good. He who does good is of God, he who does evil has not seen God."
People will always try to mold us because of their own insecurity. It helps them feel more confident about themselves if they can get others to do the same as them. Few people have the capacity to be truly themselves while letting others be too.
Can you imagine our world if everyone did this ? If each person were sure of themselves and let others be free to be themselves as well, we wouldn't need to try to be like each other. I want to encourage you today to believe that you can be an imitator of Christ and break all the molds imposed by the world !
Listen to the voice of god
Let's take the time to listen to what God means.
Maybe you are having trouble letting go of the influence of others and the world, ask God to help you restore your identity in Jesus.
Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and He can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I want to be myself and not be influenced by others, in order to live fully in accordance with your Word, which is the source of life."
Praise God
To praise God is to show Him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the lord
Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.
“Lord, strengthen my identity in you and help me to no longer be shaped by the thoughts of this world. May my standards be your standards. Yours be the reign, the power and the glory forever. so be it !"
