Call God for help

Eternal, my God ! I cried out to you, and you healed me. Psalm 30.3

What rejoices me in the Bible is its profound simplicity that shows up in the most profound statements spoken in the shortest and simplest terms.

Throughout the Bible, God is revealed as the one who heals his people. To the people of Israel, after his liberation from Egypt, he declared : "I am the Eternal who heals you" (Exodus 15:26). It could be translated as : "I am the Eternal, your doctor." Twelve centuries later, he affirms : "I, the Eternal, do not change" (Malachi 3.6).

In the New Testament, James writes to Christians : "Is anyone among you sick ? Let him call the elders of the church and let them pray for him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord ; prayer in faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up" (James 5:14-15).

I thank the Lord for doctors, nurses and all those who help the sick and people with disabilities. The absolute doctor is God Himself ; the channels of healing may vary, but the source is always the same.

Perhaps you are afflicted with an illness, a physical oppression, a burden from which the Lord would like to free you. Have you ever thought of calling on God ? Consider the simplicity of these words : "I called to you for help and you healed me." We often neglect what is simple and within our reach.

Why not present your problem to God ? I've done it many times and it healed me. I believe that he will do the same for you.

Listen the voice of God

Are you afflicted with an illness, under physical oppression, or a burden from which the Lord would like to set you free ? Take the time to listen to what God wants to tell you about this.

Praying is simple. God says : "Ask and you shall receive... for everyone who asks receives" (Matthew 7:7-8). God wants to see you healthy. Believe it with all your heart ! Here is a sample prayer : "Lord, you are my creator and my savior. You are the one who heals me. Just as I trust in you for the salvation of my soul, I trust in you for the healing of my body."

Praise God

How not to praise you, Lord Jesus ? The Bible says he came to heal the broken hearted, to open the eyes of the blind, to set captives and the oppressed free ; that he went from place to place doing good and healing all the sick. Do you know that everyone that touched him was healed ? ALL ! If you haven't received the healing yet, it's on the way. Thank the Lord Jesus in advance !

Act today

Now think about what actions you could take to achieve what God expects of you. If you don't feel concerned, maybe it's time to ask the Holy Spirit for which person in your circle you could pray for healing ?

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"You have revealed yourself to us as the God who heals us. To you be the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
