Change of heart

Christ taught you ! If you really heard his voice ... Then, get rid of your old perverse nature - the old you who was a partner in your evil ways ... Ephesians 4: 20-22

Paul before his conversion was not sweet. With pride and brutality, he apprehended all Christians and sought to destroy them. He was fanatical, selfish, and boasted. But when he wrote his warm and affectionate letter to the churches of Galatia, he said, among other things : "The fruit of the Spirit is ... sweetness, kindness ... sweetness." His humility was something God had given, not something artificial. It's not our nature to be gentle. On the contrary, it is our nature to be proud and haughty. This is why the new birth is so essential for all of us. This is why Jesus says frankly and clearly not only to Nicodemus but to each one of us : "You must be born again." Sweetness begins here! You must have a change of nature.

Prayer for the day

Heavenly Father, give me the same kind of sweetness you gave to Jesus.
