Concentrate on what's important

"Let us reject every burden, and the sin that so easily envelops us ..." Hebrews 12: 1

If you want to complete the race of life, if you want to reach the finish line, you have to get rid of anything that could hamper your progress. You can see this as an operation of de-clutter or simplification, the fact is that you have to let go of some things if you want to get to the end of your race.

God does not ask you to do everything.

What are these things ? All those that are a source of discouragement. Consider the following example : If you plug a single bulb into a battery, it will last a long time. If you plug in 100, it will drain very quickly.

If you do not stop overloading your schedule and your life, you will soon be discouraged and tired.

In our verse of the day, I would like to dwell on two words : "burden" and "sin", because these are the two points that keep you in the race of life.

A burden is all that slows you down. It can be a relationship, a job, an activity or a sport. It's not necessarily something bad. A burden can be a good thing in itself, but to want to bring in too many good things in your life, you will eventually crack because you will not have enough time for all. You must learn to say no to grow. God does not ask you to do everything.

A burden can also be an unrealistic expectation aroused by peer pressure or the need to please someone, or a memory. You can remain stuck in the past, clinging to a happiness or an injury. The problem is that you can not live in the past or even in the future, but only in the present. Any other attitude will increase your walk.

Whatever the burden, if it does not help you but on the contrary hinders you, you must get rid of it.

Sin is easy to define, is not it ? This is all you need to do but do not. You know the principles of a healthy lifestyle or a good management of your finances. But do you apply them ?

It is said in James 4:17 : "Thus he that knoweth the good which he ought to do, and doeth not, is guilty of sin."

If you know you need to spend less than your income to stay financially healthy, do not get into buying that will only get you more debt. You do not need to imitate your neighbor or whoever you are comparing to. You do not have to use your credit card. Live within your means ; Thus, you will be rid of the burden of debts and will be able to move more freely.

Action for Today

God loves you and that is why He speaks to you in His Word. Put into practice what you have just read and let God alleviate you in order to run into the career that is open to you.
