Convince God through prayer

Search the Scriptures

We have full freedom to enter the most holy place, thanks to the blood of the sacrifice of Jesus... Let us therefore approach the throne of the God of grace with full assurance. There, God will grant us his goodness. Hebrews 10.19; 4.16

I am amazed to see the intimacy that Abraham and Moses enjoyed with God, to the point that both conversed with him as with a friend.

Within the framework of this intimacy, God made known to them his plans. This aroused in both of them a powerful intercession which could sometimes take the form of a real pleading. Let's see this together.

Abraham fought back six times for God not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, before realizing that the situation was ultimately hopeless.

Moses, in front of the mission that God addresses to him, will, in a way, negotiate the clauses and he will win his case, at the end of a verbal contest. In Exodus 33:15-17, Moses said to God : "If you do not come with us yourself, do not lead us out of this place... The Eternal answered Moses : Because you enjoy my favor and I I have a special relationship with you, I grant you... what you just asked me."

What is amazing is that we too can experience such intimacy with our Savior. Doesn't Jesus call his disciples, his friends ?

The Almighty God “lowers himself” to dialogue with his creature in this way and sometimes allows himself to be “convinced” by it. In fact, therein lies the mystery of intercession. Like Jesus who intercedes on our behalf with the Father, we too are called to intercede, to plead with God for our loved ones, our spiritual leaders, our authorities, the nations. Intercession is a real ministry in itself. Remember Anne who, in the temple, "served God day and night by fasting and prayer". (Luke 2.37). Since we have full access to his throne, let us use this privilege without moderation.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. For whom or what is God asking you to intercede today ?

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Thank you Lord for this "special relationship" that you have with me and which allows me to speak to you freely as to a Father or a friend. Thank you for all the answers you have already granted me. I may be found faithful in this ministry of intercession ! Amen."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now, deepen what you have received. What can you put in place to apply what God has told you ? Write down concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, let Your will alone be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
