Count on God and his people
Searching the Scriptures
He is not far from each of us. Acts 17:27
The Bible says that God "is not far from each of us." God does not play favoritism. From city dwellers in the crowd to isolated villagers, everyone can enjoy the presence of God. But many don't.
They go through life as if there was no God to love them. As if their only strength was theirs. As if the only solution came from within, not from above. They live in impiety. But you can avoid all of that. How ? 'Or' What ?
1) Count on his presence : "For God himself has said : I will not forsake you, neither will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13.5).
2) Count on his people : "For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am among them" (Matthew 18.20).
When Moses and the Israelites fought against the Amalekites, God commissioned Joshua to lead the fight in the valley below while Moses went up the hill to pray. But he didn't go alone. He took his two lieutenants, Aaron and Hur.
While Joshua was leading the physical warfare, Moses was engaging in spiritual warfare. Aaron and Hur stood on either side of their leader to hold his arms up in the battle of prayer. The Israelites won because Moses prayed, and Moses won because he had other people to pray with him. Just like an army requests air support, you can request prayer support.
Jesus said : "If two of you agree on earth to ask for anything, it will be granted to them by my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 18:19). So rely on God and his people.
Listen the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Do you feel lonely ? Allow the Holy Spirit to deposit the names of people with whom you might pray for the situation you are going through.
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord, teach me to seek more support from my spiritual family. May I not be left alone in my struggles. Amen."
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Thank you, Lord, for your Church of believers with whom I can join in prayer. Yours be the reign, the power, and the glory, amen !"
