David was in the "church" of Saul. A church of forma (ta) tion. Saul wanted to format it. We could not blame him, he had learned that way. He had a narrow vision, and in this fight against Goliath, he had failed for 40 days, not moving a centimeter, but he wanted to give a boost to the young David. There are many who will come to tell you that you can not do it. Many people will discourage you about souls. They will try to put on you an armor that you do not want to wear. You will not be able to wear it because you will act in truth and without hypocrisy. They did not win a soul, but they want you to wear their coat. Their counsels, their thoughts, and their sermons, are the manifestation of an accumulation of reasoning.
David was in Saul's "church", but he knew that something was wrong. He tried to wear the armor but he was not convinced. What a privilege to wear the armor of the leader of our people ! What a privilege to be brought quickly to the stage, and to take a responsibility ! Many people know that this dress does not suit them, but they have sought too much to have the title to refuse it now ! They say they will lose weight a little, or gain weight. They say to themselves that with a little effort, a little compromise, they will succeed sooner or later to wear the armor they are given ! I remember being with my friend Michaël in a biblical institute in France. There was in this institute full time people from Africa, the islands, and Europe.
At the time of the prayer, I was shocked to hear them all praying in the same way, with the same religious accent, and with the same words. All their personality, their accents, and what made their differences had disappeared to form a single mold. I prayed by the Holy Spirit a few months later : "Lord, I beg you, not this movement." I did not want to enter this mold, because I knew unknowingly that when I entered, the call of God would die. I had to go with the gifts, personality, and strength that God had given me.
