Day 11 : The gouvernment, the disabled, the sick, the doctors...

We continue in what Jesus taught us : "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as in heaven." After praying for our environment, then come our prayers for our country. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says : "If my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves, pray, and seek my face, and turn away from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven, and I will forgive them His sin, and I will heal his land.". We must be 'salt and light' for our country, so that the blessing of God may remain, or come back when a direction taken is not right.

Let us pray that the government will take care of the weak, the sick, the elderly, the disabled. We have a disabled son, who is now twenty-seven. He lives in a Specialized Adapted Home (MAS), but he comes to us almost every weekend. When I sleep in the evening, we pray together for the handicapped and the parents of disabled people, that they receive patience, love, grace from God. We pray for all the staff of the specialized houses, and we also pray for people with disabilities in countries where there is not the care we know here, where they are often rejected or worse. We pray that there will always be at least one person who shows them love, human dignity and that God Himself consoles them where no one else does. We can pray for pregnant women who carry a handicapped child, whether they know it or not. That they receive the grace of God to keep, accept, love and, when it comes to a polyhandicaped child, that parents receive patience, and more love.

In 2011 my wife had breast cancer. We went back to a world we did not know yet ... visits to the oncologist, the surgeon, all these people in the waiting room, often alone, with the cares engraved on the face ... These endless expectations during the Chemotherapy sessions in a common room where many people get different treatments ... We do not realize, but there is so much 'hidden' suffering. This gives us the opportunity to pray for this too.

Africa has had an epidemic of Ebola, do you remember ? This kind of situation provides the opportunity to pray for not only these sick people and their families, but also for all those people giving assistance and help, often putting their own lives at risk. We can also pray for people who are researching to find effective medicines, that God leads them and gives them intelligence and direction.

Tomorrow we will look at several other important aspects to pray that "His kingdom come."

"Lord, I pray for the government, that you lead them to always take care of the weak, the sick, the handicapped ... I also pray for the latter especially, that there is always someone who loves them. I pray that you lead those who do research, that vaccines and medicines can be found. In the name of Jesus, amen !"
