Deceptive relief

Come and help us […) ! For deceitful is the help which comes to us from men ! Psalm 60.13

On their boat, there were 32 people who wanted to reach the island of Lesbos, from Turkey. The migrants relied on their life jackets. But this one did not deserve its name ! The valve literally sucked in water and dragged the poor into the depths. The Turkish coastguard found only one exhausted survivor.

How many "emergency vests" are on the market today, when it comes to being saved for eternity! Here we rely on old traditions, on church membership, there on pilgrimages, good works, or religious performances. But this is not enough !

Only one can save : Jesus Christ, the Son of God. That’s why he came to earth. Whoever listens to his Word and accepts it by faith has eternal life and does not come to judgment. (John 5:24)

Which life jacket do you want to put on ? A defective, hacked item ? Or the one who has been tried millions of times without being faulted ? You know it is a vital decision !
