Deformed road
For the Eternal knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin. Psalm 1.6
My bus is heckled by a road full of wounds and bumps. A sign reads : deformed road ! To my left, the sad buildings of a detention center. I think of an old prisoner I saw last week. What twisted road did he take ? Have we said "I love you" enough ? Has it been abused, mistreated ? Or maybe he had a happy childhood, who knows ?
On the deformed road, some drive in luxury cars and are notables in their city. Are they on the right track ? They can be unfaithful in love, or cheats in business...
For the prisoner, as for all of us, Jesus Christ is the way. A straight path, pure and luminous. Whoever follows me does not walk in darkness (John 8:12).
Dear friend in prison, there is hope for you ! Hope to get out of it after years ? No, right away. From now on, Jesus wants to take you out of the interior prison where your deformed road has led you. Come to him, receive his forgiveness. And you too, you who are free to move !

Proposed reading : Psalm 1.
1.1 Blessed is the man who does not follow the counsel of the wicked, who does not stop in the way of sinners, and does not sit with scoffers,
1.2 but who delights in the law of the Eternal and meditates on it day and night !
1.3 It resembles a tree planted near a stream : it bears fruit in its season, and its foliage does not wither. Everything he does succeeds.
1.4 The wicked, on the contrary, are like chaff that the wind scatters.
1.5 This is why the wicked do not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
1.6 For the Eternal knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
