Deliver his body for be burned

"If I give my body to the flames, but have no love, it is of no use to me" (1 Corinthians 13: 3).

I think you have seen or heard the current events, where men blow themselves up to obey "God". In a frightening show, we sometimes find charred pieces of their flesh. They did it in the name of religion, imagining themselves getting an eternal reward. What a catastrophe ! These people find themselves, the second after the detonation, in hell. They delivered their bodies to the flames, and it did not help them.

During the war, my great-grandfather rescued a man by protecting him from shrapnel, and his leg was torn off (he saw a leg torn off and did not realize at the time that was his !) He survived, but he lost his leg. This beautiful action made him lose his leg. It was a heroic act. It is nevertheless surprising that from the point of view of God, such a great act, if done in favor of a person for example, can count for nothing. And it is also surprising to realize that we can deliver our body to the flames without love. How can we reach such a point of seduction ?

Have we ever done things while being seduced ? Did we, like the Pharisee who prayed standing, despise the people around us, completely convinced that we were in the truth ? Have we ever been hypocrites ? Have we ever prayed in public or given an offering to be seen by people ? Rather, these things must burn, not us.

There is no point in paying a price for things that are worthless. I want to do things with passion and love. And I want to come to the point where, like Christ, I will be ready to give my life for those I love, and above all for his cause, for him. I want to love her to the point of giving my life without holding anything back.
