Destination

A heritage that can neither destroy itself, nor soil itself, nor lose its shine. It is reserved for you in heaven. 1 Peter 1.4

The whole family was looking forward to the summer vacation. We all loved the ocean, the sand, the surf, the cool wind, swimming, watching the sunsets... Only one problem : our vacation home was 700 km away, and then there was no highway in this part of Africa.

A ten hour trip with three children under the age of 9 in a small car without air conditioning can be very tiring.

We played together, invented fun things, spotted animals, admired the scenery. This helped to make the trip interesting, but, let's be honest, it was painful too.

But when we passed the last hill, the sight in front of us took our breath away. The beach, the river, the lagoon, the ocean, the waves, the rocks, the spray, a kaleidoscope of beauty. One of our sons summed up our impressions : “The trip was not easy, but the destination is definitely worth it."

Sometimes we all get tired of the journey of life. Jesus consoled his disciples with this message : May your heart not be troubled ! Believe in God, also believe in me. There are many homes in my Father's house. If it wasn't, I will have told you. I will prepare a place for you. And since I am going to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you with me so that, where I am, you will also be there. (John 14.1-3)

The destination makes the trip interesting.
