Did you really love ?

Love each other like I loved you. John 13:34

Bob Jones is a Christian who had a special experience : he died in 1975 of an illness and found himself before Christ's Judgment Seat. He was surprised to see Jesus "scanning" the whole life of Christians with his eyes of love and holiness asking them one question : "Did you really love ?"

And if it was true ?

The Bible repeatedly emphasizes the importance of loving like God. It is even mentioned that "God is love". (1 John 4.8)

"My friends, let us not seek earthly glory and reputation. Let us seek the Father's heart and our heavenly reputation."

So many people, and unfortunately this includes Christian leaders, accomplish so-called "great things" for God by using others. Manipulating, hurting people certainly does not glorify God and, even if it goes unnoticed on Earth, in Heaven everything will be revealed by the ordeal of fire (1 Corinthians 3: 11-15). So let us not forget that Jesus said : "There is nothing hidden that shall not be discovered, nor secret that shall not be known. That is why whatever you say in the dark will be heard. in broad daylight and what you have whispered in the rooms will be proclaimed on the rooftops." (Luke 12.2-3)

My friends, let us not seek earthly fame and reputation. Let us seek the Father's heart and our heavenly reputation. Let us be faithful, let us love him, as the people and our Father who is in secret sees him and will return him to us ! (Matthew 6.6)

A decision for today

I decide to love as you love. Forgive me if I have hurt people and give me the divine ability to love like you.
